How to craft a bookmark with Gelatos

Step 1

Using coloured card or strong paper to cut out a bookmarker template. Gesso could be used as a grounding

Step 2

Cut out a book page and glue it on the template, possibly use Gesso again.

Step 3

Paint Gelatos into the upper and lower corner, it doesn’t have to be exact.

Step 4

Using coloured card or strong paper to cut out a bookmarker template. Gesso could be used as a grounding

Step 5

Repaint the corners with Gelatos in brown and red and blur it with a wet finger. By doing this the colour gets shown off to its best advantage. To put more emphasis on it, paint the edges of the bookmark and blur it with a finger

Step 6

Paint the stamp with the black Pitt Artist Pen big brush and stamp it on the dried bookmark.

Step 7

  • Apply Gelatos on a base and mix it with a bit of water. Take colour with a brush and splash it on the feathers, to create splashing effects. After drying, glue those on the bookmark.

  • Cutting out some matching words from magazines, newspapers or books and glue them on the bookmark. Colour in an absorbent ribbon with Gelatos. Fill a spray can with water and spray it on the ribbon, thus water and colour can mix and beautiful gradients are created. Pull the dried coloured ribbon through a hole in the bookmark. Tie a bow with a cord - et voilà
